A 24-year-old youth was killed when a speeding BMTC bus hit his bike at B Narayanapura Road near KR Puram on Wednesday.

The victim has been identified as Noman Noushad, employed as a graphic designer in an IT firm in Whitefield. Noushad was a resident of Kalyan Nagar.

This comes a day after two pre-university students were killed on the spot when a BMTC bus ran over them on Mysuru Road.

According to the police, the incident happened around 9 am when Noushad was on his way to work on his two-wheeler. Noushad was riding on the left side of the bus and tried to overtake it.

He brushed against a barricade installed for the construction of the metro station and slipped under the bus. The driver didn’t notice him and ran over him, killing him on the spot.

The KR Puram traffic police have seized the bus and arrested the driver, Ramegowda, and booked him for rash and negligent driving. The body has been sent to Bowring Hospital for post-mortem.
