Drawing sheets will be provided to the participants of the contest. But they would have to bring the painting stationery. There is no entry fee.

The competition will be held in three categories: junior level (5 to 16 years), senior level (16 to 25 years) and adult section (above 25 years). While “Save Water” will be the topic for the juniors, senior category participants will have to paint on the topic “Global Warming.” For the adult section, the topic is “Save Tiger”.

The winners will be announced by 5 pm and the prizes will be awarded the same day.

The results will also be announced in the January 31 edition of Deccan Herald.

This Deccan Herald venture is bound to add more spice to the Santhe, which is expected to help the artists sell their creative works in big numbers. After all, last year, the Santhe organisers recorded a turnover of Rs. 1.4 crore.

The expectations are much higher this year. Also on the agenda are demonstrations by Origami and Kirigami experts.

Visitors will also be taught how to make paper bags.

The Santhe has a special invitee show, “Multiple Dimensions -- Generations and Genre,” in which 99 artists from four generations will exhibit their works in the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath’s main gallery. On show will be works by Yusuf Arakkal, MS Murthy, C S Krishna Shetty, C Chandrashekhar, U S Venkatraman, Ravi Kumar Kashi and M S Umesh.

Traffic diversion

Traffic in and around Kumara Krupa Road will be diverted between 7 am and 7 pm:

*Movement of all vehicles will be banned from 7 am till the programme concludes.
*BMTC and KSRTC buses from Majestic area moving towards Bellary Road can ply on Race View junction, Trilights junction, Basaveshwara Circle, Old High Grounds police station, Windsor Manor junction to join Bellary Road.
* Light motor vehicles from Majestic area towards Bellary Road can take left turn at Shivananda Circle, and U-turn at Nehru Circle and move on Railway Parallel Road, BDA flyover to join Bellary Road.
* Vehicles plying from Bellary Road towards Majestic and K R Market areas can move on Windsor Manor Circle, Old High Grounds police station junction, can take right turn at LRDE junction and move further through Basaveshwara Circle.
