A gang of six armed men robbed two employees of a cash management firm who were returning to the workplace after collecting Rs 24 lakh from an online pharmacy.
The gang rode on three motorcycles and intercepted Devendra and Manjunath, employees of Writer Safeguard Pvt Ltd, near their office in Wilson Garden on Monday night.
The employees had collected the money from three branches of an online pharmacy and were returning to the office when they were raided. The gang threatened them with lethal weapons and snatched the bag containing Rs 24 lakh.
The staffers alerted their office before approaching the Wilson Garden police station to file a complaint. Police suspect the robbery to be an inside job and are reviewing the CCTV footage of the crime spot to track down the gang, a senior officer said.
