Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s private SUV was booked twice for traffic violations in February and the fine is yet to be paid.

According to the traffic police website, there are two traffic violation cases involving the vehicle, one on February 10, for using mobile phones while driving and another on February 22, for overspeeding near Basaveshwara circle with a fine of Rs 300.

Kumaraswamy was in the city on both days. On February 10, he was busy with the audio gate, two days after the budget, and on February 22, he met railway minister Piyush Goyal at Vidhana Soudha on resolving issues on Bengaluru suburban rail project.

The offences were recorded by the automated enforcement cameras and notices were generated and sent to the address of Kasturi Media Private Limited, which is mentioned during the registration of the vehicle.

A senior police officer said the violation was noted down by the automated enforcement camera and the printed notice has been sent to the address. He said the fine amount is yet to be paid.

Ever since Kumaraswamy took over as chief minister, he never used the official vehicle but preferred his personal car for all the official work.
