Five young men and a minor boy were arrested on Sunday for doing wheelies and other dangerous motor vehicle stunts on NICE Road in western Bengaluru, police said.
The arrests were made during a special drive launched by Kengeri, Byatarayanapura and Banashankari traffic police to prevent self-accidents, said B R Ravikanthe Gowda, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic).
The five arrested youths are Harish, of Byatarayanapura, Ayyappa, of Krishnappa Layout, Mohammed Tousif, of Banashankari, Bharath J, of Ittamadu, and Nanda S L, of Nagarabhavi. They are aged between 18 and 21 years. The minor suspect is a 16-year-old from JP Nagar.
They have been booked under the IPC section 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and under the Indian Motor vehicle Act.
