Despite High Court’s emphasis on the need for a uniform policy to deal with unauthorized flexes and banners, posters are seen in a few places in Sarjapur road in East Bengaluru.

The effect of the ban is not to be seen in Carmelaram, Kodathi village, Dommasandra, Sompura in Sarjapur limits.

The flexes put up in these areas are a nuisance to residents.

“Locals put up banners wishing their babies, friends and others. I even saw a banner of the transgender community in Kodathi,” said
Narayana, a resident of Kodathi village. A panchayat member of Yamare in Sarjapura road said: “Areas from Carmelaram to Sarjapur come under Panchayat and Anekal Town Planning Authority.

The respective village panchayats should conduct a drive against illegal flexes and banners. The panchayats are yet to be directed by the High Court to do it.”
