A group of unidentified suspects pelted stones at Nowhera Shaik’s vehicle near Tannery Road on Thursday, reports DHNS from Bengaluru. Nowhera is the founder and president of the All India Mahila Empowerment Party. The incident took place when she was campaigning near Tannery Road. Though Nowhera was unhurt, three to five of her party workers were injured.

According to Assadullah — one of the injured who is being treated in the Bowring Hospital — Nowhera was addressing the public near Gopalapura, when a group of miscreants suddenly began pelting stones at her vehicle. Her security personnel managed to immediately bring her inside the vehicle.

Assadullah said that a complaint will be filed on Friday to initiate action against the goons.

Prithvi Reddy vows to stand up for the constituency

Prithvi Reddy, state convener, Aam Aadmi Party, said his party is standing up for the constituency, rather than for the whole state. Reddy, the party’s national executive member, is contesting from the Sarvagnanagar constituency.

Campaigning at HBR Layout on Thursday, Reddy told DH that the AAP wants to work as a strong Opposition since it is contesting in just 29 seats.
