Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday ruled out slashing sales tax on petrol and diesel.
To a query whether Karnataka will follow Gujarat and Maharashtra which slashed sales tax on petrol and diesel, Siddaramaiah replied in the negative.
“The price of petrol and diesel in Karnataka is relatively less. If the price of fuel has to be reduced further, then it will have to be done by the Centre,” he said.
Karnataka levies 30% sales tax on petrol and 19% on diesel.
