The Chandra Layout police arrested three people for assaulting a 76-year-old retired woman police inspector and robbing her 155 grams of gold jewellery.
The suspects are Hasheena (49), her nephew Mohaboob (29) and Imran Khan from Bapujinagar. They had assaulted and had robbed Shantha of her valuables on November 15 at her house in Attiguppe.
Haseena, a domestic help, stays in the same road where Shanta lived and learnt that Shanta stayed alone. She plotted the robbery and started talking to Shanta to get close to her.
The victim had told the suspect that she had sought the help of an electrician for repair works at her house. The suspect informed her nephew Mohaboob, who visited the house posing as the electrician’s assistant. He observed the victim’s house and after 10 days and visited the house along with his associate Imran Khan. The duo assaulted Shanta and robbed the gold jewellery.
