Scores of people made a beeline for different nationalised banks in the City on Monday to collect applications for allotment of 5,000 sites at the Bangalore Development Authority’s (BDA) Kempegowda Layout.

Application forms are being made available at select branches of Canara Bank, Corporation Bank, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, SBM, Punjab and Sind Bank. Forms are also available at the BDA office on Sankey Road.

The last date for submission of filled-in applications along with the initial deposit is December 31, 2015. The prices for the sites have been fixed with the BDA Board approving the same.

For the general category of people, the BDA has finalised Rs 1,800 per square foot (sqft) for a 20x30 site, and Rs 900 per sqft for the economically weaker sections.

For a 30x40 site, the rate has been fixed at Rs 2,000 per sqft, which works out to Rs 24 lakh for a site. For a 40x60 site, it is Rs 2,200 per sqft. For a 50x80 site, the rate is fixed at Rs 2,500.

The BDA has plans to build apartments, malls, office and commercial spaces as part of the layout development.

Kempegowda Layout is located between Mysore Road and Magadi Road covering areas near NICE Road and Kengeri. It also borders Visveswaraiah Layout which stretches from areas close to Kengeri to Ullal and Malathhalli on the outskirts of the City.
