Bangalore Development Minister G Parameshwara ordered the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officials to complete filling of all potholes in the city by this Saturday.

In a meeting with the Palike officials on Thursday, he directed the officials to provide the details on its website about the potholes filled, which will be provided to the high court.

Parameshwara, who is also the deputy chief minister, said the residents could verify the details and if they find any fault, they could inform the joint commissioner concerned.

He also has directed them to complete the TenderSURE and white-topping work by next summer.

The court will take up the issue on Saturday, and before that, the joint commissioners of all zones have been instructed to ensure the completion of work,” he said.

The minister observed that white-topping projects were going on for more than 11 months, exceeding the stipulated time.

He said he would hold meetings with the traffic police to provide alternative routes to the people so that the civic body can carry out the work.

The BBMP also has plans to establish an exclusive control room to monitor the LED lights that will be installed in every street. The Palike has a project to convert all sodium vapour lamps into LED
lights.

“The tender process for the project is over and we will seek the cabinet’s seek approval. The Rs 800-crore project will be implemented in the PPP model, and up to 80% of electricity will be saved,” he said.
