Two die in separate road accidents

Two persons were killed in separate accidents at Hulimavu and Adugodi in Southeast Bengaluru on Thursday.

Swamy, a software engineer and a resident of BTM Layout, was riding home from Jigani with a woman friend. Around 7 pm, when they were near Decathlon on Bannerghatta Road, a private bus hit their two-wheeler, causing both of them to fall down.

Swamy sustained head injuries and died on the spot, while his friend escaped with minor injuries.

The Hulimavu traffic police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving causing death, and have booked the driver and seized the bus.

In the second incident, a bike rider sustained grievous injuries while the pillion rider died on the spot in Adugodi on Thursday. The deceased is Shubham (30), and the rider has been identified as Sagar (35). They were natives of West Bengal and were working in a coffee shop in BTM Layout.

According to the police, the accident happened around 1 am at the Sarjapura Road junction after Sagar lost control of his over-speeding bike, hit the footpath and fell over.

The Adugodi traffic police have booked Sagar for rash and negligent driving, causing death.
