<p>Everyone has a distinct personality and it can be made out from the way one talks, dresses and sometimes even the things one carries. <br /><br />People personalise their wallets not just by the colours and designs but also by the items that they put in them. <br /><br />And while some people keep their wallets clean with only cash, others often carry items which hold some importance to them, giving an insight into their minds. <br /><br />Metrolife interacted with some people in the City to find out what are the most likely things one can find in their bags. “Other than the usual cash, I carry passport-size photos of myself and an alternate Sim card,” says Sumukhi, a professional. <br /><br />Photographs are common with many, be it of themselves or of religious deities. <br />“As I am a religious guy, I carry a photo of God. I also carry few passport size photographs, just in case the need arises,” says Abhinav, a market analyst.<br /> “I have a photo of God which was given to me by my grandmother,” says Akiesh, an IT professional. Photographs of family and friends also find their way inside the wallet. <br />“I always carry a photo of my college gang and my family with me,” says Lorna, a marketing professional. Other than photos, there is also junk that finds its way into the precious space. <br /><br /> “There are always some old bills which I forget to throw, a courier receipt and ATM receipts,” says Abhinav. <br /><br />“I always have tonnes of ATM receipts in my wallet,” says Rashmi, a student. <br />Mementos too find a place in wallets. “I keep a coin that my brother gave me when he came from abroad and a tissue which my friend had signed on,” says Lorna. Old currency seems quite popular too. “People often carry Chinese coins tied with a red ribbon in their purse. In Feng Shui, if you keep these coins in your purse, it’s believed that your purse will never be empty,” says Abhinav. <br /><br />A weird thing that some people carry is bills to remind them of the time spent with important people or precious things they purchased. <br /><br />“I keep old tickets of the movies I had seen with my best friends,” says Sumukhi. “I have a bill of the meal, I took all my friends for on the last day at my first office!” says Lorna. <br />“I keep the receipt of the engagement ring I bought for my girlfriend,” says Akiesh. <br /><br />One would have thought that people like to keep their wallets as light as possible but it seems like they think otherwise.</p>
