In a bid to commemorate stamps issued in some of the erstwhile princely states in the country post independence, the Department of Posts unveiled a set of four commemorative postage stamps on Sirmur, Indore, Bamra and Cochin. It is noted that the stamps issued by these states carried portraits of the kings and princes, regal insignia or symbols, printed using a variety of methods and colours.
