Handbook on Urban dept released

 Releasing the book CM Yeddyurappa, said the Urban Development Department has done tremendous works in the cities and towns of the city in the last one year.

According to the booklet, for the first time in the state a new urban development policy has been framed. This policy was made under the chairmanship of Dr A Ravindra, former Chief Secretary of the state. The final draft is awaiting Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa’s nod.

The department also framed the Common Cadre and Recruitment Rule. This helps in promotion and transfers of the employees in various municipal corporations. Earlier there was no transfer and proper promotion policy as such. Now with this rule, the employees have better promotion chances.

A new public grievances cell has also been constituted, says the booklet. Whenever there is a complaint, the Cell personnel will visit the spot, address the problem.
