Duminy (129, 117b, 7x4, 4x6) and De Villiers (109, 99b, 5x4, 5x6) powered SA to 399 for six in the allotted 50 overs.
Zimbabwe, in reply, were languishing at 47 for three in nine overs, with Tatenda Taibu (9) and Craig Ervine (15) at the crease. Earlier, the allaince between Duminy and De Villiers' lasted over 31 overs, runs gushing in at just under seven runs an over. They shared 11 fours and seven sixes between them.
With the total set to surpass the 400-mark De Villiers departed and Duminy raced to 129, his highest score in ODIs, before Nicolson scalped him.
However, the dismissals of Duminy and De Villiers did not scuttle the run-flow as subsequent batsmen sustained the momentum with beefy hits as the Springbokes raced to a massive total.
