Model village

The JSS Mahavidyapeetha is developing Suttur in Nanjangud taluk as a model health village. It will be ready by the end of 2015.

Suresh said doctors are not willing to work in villages of late due to lack of facilities.  However, the mahavidyapeetha has taken this as a challenge and has already adopted three primary health centres in the village. It has invited John Hawkins of United States of America to Suttur to give suggestions for overall development of the village. Hawkins has made revolutionary changes in the field of health education in the US and has earned worldwide reputation. Such an initiate will be replicated in other parts of the country if the model health village concept becomes successful.
