Shashwati Mandal Paul is the grand-daughter of late Gayanacharaya Pandit
Balabhau Umdekar, better known as Kundalguru, the last court musician of Gwalior Kingdom. She initially trained under her mother Kamal Mandal and later received national scholarship for learning Tappa and Khyal from veteran musician Pt Balasaheb Poonchwale.

Her musical dexterity marks a refined ecleticism that has lent her an individualistic style at a fairly young age. Shashwati seems all set to emerge as one of the future faces of Indian classical music for her complete command over her unique voice and a wide range of variations in her presentation. She is currently receiving guidance from The Gundecha Brothers.

Shashwati has performed in several prestigious music festivals. Some of her notable performances have been at the Sawai Ghandharva Music Festival, The Tansen Sangeet Samaroh, Rajarani Music Festival, Sangeet Pratibha Music Festival at Kholapur etc. She has also been awarded the tittle Surmani.

At the Raag Sangeet, she will be accompanied by
Gurumurty Vaidya (tabla) and Vyasmurti Katti (harmonium).
Entry is free.
