The boy was kidnapped allegedly by unidentified person and abandoned at the Kankavli railway station on Wednesday morning by the abductor. Aditya Gavde, a resident of Indira Nagar in Ghatkopar, went missing while he was playing nearby his residence on Saturday. His tempo driver father and other family members searched all over in the area but in vain.

Subsequently, a missing person complaint was registered at the Ghatkopar police station, police said. However, Aditya was found at the Kankavli railway station this morning.

"Pretending to be father of the boy, the kidnapper asked a person to take care of him saying that he was going to buy a ticket. However, the kidnapper never returned," said Arun Mane, Senior Inspector at Kankavli railway station.

The boy was later handed over to them, who learnt about a boy missing from Mumbai. The parents in Mumbai were contacted, who gave accurate description of the boy, he said.

The Ghatkopar police were also informed about the boy, he added. "We have registered a case of kidnapping against unidentified person," Uttam Kolekar, Police Inspector at Ghatkopar Police Station said adding further investigations are on.

A team of Ghatkopar police and relatives reached Kankavli to fetch the boy.
