The government should release  ` two crore for each Assembly constituency in the district to take up relief works.

The new district-in-charge minister V Somanna should take up the issue. Besides, the government owes ` 64 crore to PWD contractors, he noted. The JD(S) leader said The revised estimate for the construction of engineering college in Hassan has almost doubled following delay in releasing funds.

Even the construction cost of the mini-Vidhana Soudha at Belgaum and HC Bench building in Dharwad too has gone up for the same reason. He defended his remarks against the Assembly Speaker B G Bopaiah and said the latter has lowered the image of the post by acting to the tunes of the CM while disqualifying 11 BJP legislators and five Independent MLAs. He refused to tender apology to the Speaker and said he had obtained all information from the Vidhana Soudha under the RTI act and he need to tender apology to anybody. “My enemy is the CM and not C T Ravi. If my allegations against the Speaker is false, then why the government suspended two officials for providing information”.
