Nine arrested, property worth Rs 65 lakh seized

Kamakshipalya police arrested three persons in a robbery case and recovered a gold chain and a cellphone worth Rs 25,000. The suspects were identified as R Pradeep (22), P M Raghavendra (21) and C N Lokesh (24) of Banashankari III Stage.

According to the police, the three and their friend tied up Janardhan and Santosh in a eucalyptus grove at Srigandhakaval and robbed them of a gold chain and a cellphone.

Four held for murder

The Vijaynagar police have arrested four persons in connection with the murder of a CD shop owner. The arrested are:  H Uday Kumar (25), Prakash (29), Sunil (24) and Srinivas (30), all of Kamakshipalya.

According to the police, they killed Venkatesh at his house at Pattegarapalya, Srinivasnagar. Venkatesh had a dispute with his business partner Srinivas who recently separated and set up his own business in partnership with others.

Srinivas and other suspects were afraid that Venkatesh might take revenge and decided to eliminate him. added the police.

Woman robbed

Three men accosted a woman, threatened her at knife point and took away her jewellery worth Rs 70,000 in DJ Halli on Saturday.

The complainant Sharmila has told police that the incident took place around 10.30 am, while she was heading towards Ambedkar Hospital.
