Addressing a news conference here on Sunday, he said Siddaramaiah would have quit Congress party long ago had he was not given the post of Opposition leader.

“He is an opportunist politician. He stays and sticks to the party that gives him a plum post,” he stated.

Eshwarappa said Congress was directly involved in the recent political mess that the State witnessed recently. A relative of a Union Minister cleared the hotel bills of the disgruntled BJP leaders in Chennai.

The Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) tried to come to power in the most ‘undemocratic’ manner. Instead of guiding the ruling party to do good deeds, the opposition parties committed several mistakes.

Siddaramaiah who ridicules BJP should introspect that he stayed in Maldives with a few of his confidantes when the party delayed giving him a good position. In fact, Siddu was all set to go back to Ahinda.

Opposition parties

The opposition parties conspired to topple the government and form a new government with Siddaramaiah as CM and H D Revanna as deputy CM.

However, their evil designs had been snubbed. “I will like to ask Siddaramaiah to respect the High Court verdict and do justice to his role as the Opposition leader.

To a query, Eshwarappa said that the party executive committee meeting would discuss the issue of the Cabinet expansion.  “We will work for unanimity in the party for the choices made for the Council of Ministers. We will not give any scope for differences to crop up once again in the party”.
