He was speaking at a seminar on ‘Global warming--Challenges ahead’ at Hemadri College near Moorandahalli Cross on the outskirts of the City. The seminar was organised by Information department here on Tuesday.

Youth need to be aware of the dangerous effects of global warming and take steps to tackle it. Planting more and more plants is the only solution for this, he stated. Protecting trees is our duty as we depend upon them for so many factors such as fruits, wood, oxygen and others, he said, adding that change in the lifestyle will help us in solving this problem.

Lauding the contribution of Saalumarada Thimmakka, who came from a poor economic background, he said, she stands as a role model for everyone.

Tahsildar K S Manjula spoke on the occasion. Folk singer D R Rajappa sang songs on environment which was penned by Muniswamappa.President of Hemadri Educational Institutions S B Munivenkatappa presided over the function. In charge Assistant Director of Information department Ashwini V Pati spoke.
