Rekha, a resident of Vidyanagar was walking towards the bus stop from her work place on Ahimsa Marga in Siddarthanagar, when she was accosted by a miscreant from the rear around 7.45 pm. He pressed her mouth, and warned of killing her if she tried to raise alarm. Petrified, the woman gasped for breath, even as the miscreant yanked off her chain before vanishing in the dark. The area had plunged into dark due to no street lights making it easy for the stranger to meticulously execute his plans, it is said.
