The aptitude test has been scheduled for January 15, 2011. The announcement comes after few schools requested the Board to extend the time period for online registration.

“The Board has been receiving regular requests from schools to register for the aptitude test and in view of this the last date for the online registration for CBSE Students Global Aptitude Index Assessment has now been extended,” states a CBSE circular.

The Board recently unveiled Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation in classes nine  and 10, which calls for complete restructuring of the examination system and learning system of CBSE schools.

Unlike conventional aptitude tests, which indicate professional orientations, the CBSE aptitude test will assess the in-depth knowledge of students in specific subjects.

The Board also claims that the test will enable the child in making informed career choices. The test has also been designed to assess skills of students in subjects like behavioural science, social sciences, mathematics, arts as well as their interest areas.
