Shivani outclasses Celine in girls under-12 semifinal encounter

Harsh, who posted a 6-2, 6-1 win in his semifinal encounter, will face S Ganesh in the summit clash on Friday.  Ganesh scored a hard fought 6-4, 6-3 win over Dhruv Sunish in the semis to book his final berth.

However, Vashisht put aside his loss and gathered enough to oust Hemanth K 5-3, 4-0 in his under-12 quarterfinal match. In the under-14 girls’ category, Shikha N Singh stunned highly-fancied Nupur Umashankar to book a place in the final.

Shikha secured a place in the final following  a 6-3, 6-7 (6-8), 6-4 win. Shivani Manjanna scored a thumping 6-1, 6-1 win against Celine Mariya to march into the finals in the under-12 girls’ category.

Shivani will be joined by Soha S, who posted a comfortable 7-6, 6-1 win over Madhumita Meenakshi, in the title clash on Friday.

Boys: Under-14, semifinals: Harsh Lakhani bt Vashisht C 6-2, 6-1; S Ganesh bt Dhruv Sunish 6-4, 6-3.

Under-12, quarterfinal: Vashisht C bt Hemanth K 5-3, 4-0.

Girls: Under-14, semifinal: Shikha N Singh bt Nupur Umashankar 6-3, 6-7 (6-8), 6-4.

Under-12, semifinals: Shivani Manjanna bt Celine Mariya 6-1, 6-1; Soha S bt Madhumita Meenakshi 7-5, 6-1.
