The victim, Nagaraj alias rowdy Naga (31), was involved in several criminal cases, said the Adugodi police.

The suspects hacked Nagaraj to death with lethal weapons at his friend Mohan’s house. The police suspect a financial matter and old rivalry as the motive for the murder.

Naga was accused in two murder cases and a dacoity case and was imprisoned. He came out of Central Prisons, Parappana Agrahara on October 14. A person was taken into custody and search is on to arrest the other suspects, the police added.

Four killed

Four persons were killed in separate accidents in the City since Saturday on Tumkur Road.

Hanumanthappa (36) and Lakkappa (35) were killed on the spot when their motorcycle was knocked down by a bike at a cross in Jalahalli around midnight on Saturday. They were residents of Narayanpura and were construction workers.

In another incident a 40-year-old pedestrian was killed when he was hit by an unidentified vehicle on Adugodi Main Road while crossing the road. The victim Puttaraju (40), was a security guard and hailed from Hassan.

In another incident in Peenya, Raghavendra (40) was killed when his two-wheeler came under the wheels of a tempo on Saturday morning in Dasarahalli near Peenya Industrial area.

The tempo driver is absconding. Raghavendra, a resident of Vijayanagar, was an employee of the State Bank of Mysore.

Techie ends life

A 30-year-old software engineer committed suicide at her father’s Azadnagar residence in Chamarajpet area on Saturday evening.  

The deceased, Vani was the wife of Suresh Babu, a doctor who had moved to London three months ago. Vani was staying with her parents.

According to her father Rangegowda, she was depressed since her husband left for London.

She was not working and was under going treatment at Spandana Hospital due to depression. She has not left behind any suicide note. Babu was planning to take her to London soon, the police said.
