Koppa ITI lacks infrastructure, faces staff shortage

The institute requires six trainers along with a Principal but has not sanctioned these posts so far. The institute is being run with the help of guest lecturers. The institute neither has a workshop nor has required equipment to train the students studying electrical, mechanical, motor mechanic courses.

The principal of Sakrepattana Government ITI is in charge of Koppa ITI. Even guest lecturers are not paid on time. There are 123 students pursuing their studies in the institute. The examinsation centre for these students are situated at Bhadravathi.

Parents said that five acre land has been earmarked for the Government Industrial Training Institute at Balagadi. The government should appoint permanent staff to the ITI, they added.
