The protesters also demanded fulfilment of their various demands including withdrawal of the new pension scheme for government employees, end disparity in house rent allowance. The protest was organised as part of the Federation of All India State Government Employees Association call to boycott the work and hold a protest.

President of the district unit of the Federation Chikkaswamy, office bearers Lingappa, Gurumurthy, Shivalingaiah, Sathya Prema Kumari and others were present on the occasion.

Bajrang Dal protest

On flipside, the Bajrang Dal members also staged a demonstration condemning the district administration’s move to remove unauthorised religious structures in city and opposed the demolition of these structures.

The members of the forum urged the district administration to constitute a committee comprising religious leaders, forums and government officials to carry out a study on each of the structures and weigh all the options.

The protesters urged that  religious structures should be removed only if it was felt necessary.

Such structures should be given alternative land, they demanded. Continuing, the protesters also condemned the slaughter of cattle.
 
Panchakshari Gagadakar of Vishwa Hindu Parishat, B Manjunath, Ajay Kumar others were present during the protest.
