It is an online system that keeps track on every activities from transmission and distribution, quantity of power supplied to consumers, complaints if any, and types of errors and several other related functioning.

The SCADA centre here is second after the recently opened Gulbarga centre, by Minister Shobha Karandlaje. The minister said the centre has been linked to Insat 3A satellite to monitor the system, besides feeding 11 KV stations to the centre. “The officers cannot goof off and keep higher ups in dark”, Shobha said.

This centre covers Mysore region that includes-Mysore, Mandya, Chamarajanagar and Kodagu districts. It has a total of 110 66 kv capacity stations, apart from nine 220 capacity stations.

Another advantage with having this facility is it helps in diverting power according to the requirement. For example, if a particular area needs 10 KV power the online system helps in locating the nearest station to cater to it.

In the earlier case stations having more capacity and located in far away distances were asked to take the load. Larger the distance between the receiver and supplier, it was resulting in tad loss.
