Competing with passion

Management Fest
Last Updated 24 November 2010, 12:10 IST

The event commenced with the inaugural function and the occasion was graced by Lilly

Prasad, executive director, JP Morgan.  The fest centred on the theme Equilibrium — Physics of Management and broke existing norms by incorporating ground-breaking concepts to the events.

The fest saw participation of over 25 colleges including 46 teams from Christ University itself.  The events forced the participants to think out of the box. There were cross-functional events like Fractile Logic (Information Technology), a subject of fascination in the modern times which requires a sense of innovation in all stages; Butterfly Effect, where social problems were presented; Wheel of Wisdom (Business Quiz), a search to find accuracy and brevity and Never Land (Creative Genius), where ‘impossible’ was just a perception.

Events like Utopia (Human Resources) raised the bar of competition to new levels of teamwork and Compos Mentis (Finance) helped one learn the modern ways of managing money.  The marketing event called Subconscious allowed one to apply the ultimate marketing mantra ‘customer is king’.  One of the most awaited events of Ushus was the best manager event called Schema Mentale.

Being the closing event of the fest, the best manager event consisted of elaborate sessions where the efficiency of teamwork and intellect of the individuals were tested.

Throughout the two-day fest, teams from all over the country battled hard for the coveted title of ‘Overall Winners’.  Right blend of wit, persona, passion and conviction enabled St Joseph’s College of Business Administration to win the highest honour. XIME was a close runner-up.
