UK wedding to hit students

Last Updated 03 May 2018, 04:46 IST

William, the second-in-line to the British throne, and his long-time companion Kate are to marry at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011, which has been declared a national holiday.
But teachers fear the holiday could have “a real impact” on preparations for the May 9 Sats tests, the key stage two tests taken by pupils in their final year of primary school in England, the Telegraph reported. The summer term in many schools starts on April 27, meaning children will be back in their classrooms for just two days before they are off again for a four-day weekend.
