A series of advertisements will be published in newspapers publicising land scams that took place during the JD(S) and the Congress rule, he said at Shikaripur on Friday. He and the BJP will pay for the ads.

Details on denotification of land, nepotism practices in allotment of sites through agencies like KHB, BDA and urban development authorities during the rule of the JD(S) and the Congress will be published. The first ad will be on irregularities in allotment of 32 sites for relatives of JD(S) Supremo H D Deve Gowda through MUDA in Mysore, he said. He said his predecessors were more generous in land denotification as well as allotment of ‘G’ category sites.

“When S M Krishna was the Chief Minister 251 acres were denotified,133 acres during Dharam Singh regime, 225 acres when H D Kumaraswamy was the chief minister, 127 acres were denotified during the President’s rule, and 169 acres during my tenure as Chief Minister. My predecessors score over me even in allotment of G category sites as S M Krishna had allotted 334 sites, Dharam Singh 76, H D Kumaraswamy 350 while 136 sites were allotted during my tenure. When S M Krishna was Chief Minister, three sites were allotted for family members of M V Venkatappa who was the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly then. As chief ministers, Dharam Singh and H D Kumaraswamy also have allotted sites for their near and dear ones,” he said.

Yeddyurappa accused Kumaraswamy of grabbing 80 acres of gomala land near Holenarasipur of Hassan district. Congress leaders R V Deshapande and T B Jayachandra got land allotted to their sons through KIADB under single-window system, he said.
