According to the police, the attackers apparently arrived in a car , waylaid the victims between 11.30 and 11.45 pm in Ragigudda slum. The victims died instantly, DCP (South) Sonia Narang said.
Man held for murder
Srinivas Reddy (40), a health inspector who had allegedly killed his brother, has landed in police net.
Two of his accomplices have also been arrested.
Srinivas had allegedly strangled his younger brother Anjaneya Reddy (34) to death with the help of his friends Shivanna Reddy and Bayya Reddy, at Batalahalli, Chintamani taluk on January 17, this year.
Police said , Srinivas was in an alleged illicit relationship with his brother's wife Sarojamma. When Anjaneya came to know of this, he quarrelled with Srinias and killed Sarojamma. Following this, he was arrested by the police.
By the end of 2009 he was released from prison.
A short while after Anjaneya was released, Srinivas brutally murdered him.
Recently, the Byappanahalli police arrested one of the two accomplices of Srinvas - Shivanna or Bayya - who was apparently involved in another murder.
While interrogating him, the investigators stumbled upon Srinivas' involvement in his brother's cold-blooded murder.
Acting upon this, Srinivas was taken in for questioning and he reportedly confessed
to the crime, sources confirmed.
