'Speed up encroachment clearance'

Reddy directs officials to monitor efficiency of subordinates

Participating at the progress review meeting held in Mandya on Thursday, Reddy observed that there is difference when compared to previous reports. He had also directed the officials to improve the percentage of land encroachment clearance.

Speaking to media after the meeting, he said discussions were held on the notification of survey numbers coming under gram panchayat limits and transfer of title deed, applications for survey and others.

Earlier, speaking at the meeting, he said it is essential to clear the encroachment of government  land, tanks and lakes. He directed the higher officials to monitor their subordinates as there are complaints on the efficiency of the lower grade officials.

Deputy Commissioner P C Jaffer disclosed that in all, 2,291 acres of land have been cleared of encroachments. He also suggested that the lands required for KIADB should be cleared through revenue department.

Regional Commissioner M V Jayanthi, Assistant Commissioner Vinay Kumar, Assistant Commissioner P C Jayanna, Prabhu, Rangappa, Tahsildars of various taluks were present at the meeting.
