AIISH to observe Intl Day of Disabled on Dec 3

The theme for ‘The International Day of Persons with Disabilities - 2010’ is ‘Keeping the promise: Mainstreaming disability in the Millennium Development Goals towards 2015 and beyond’.

Activities

AIISH has planned various activities to promote, protect and preserve the rights and to provide equal opportunities to persons with various communication disorders.

A seminar on the theme has been organised on December 3 between 9.30 am to 12 noon.
JSS Law College Principal Prof K S Suresh, will be the chief guest for the programme. AIISH Director Dr Vijayalakshmi Basavaraj will preside over the function.

Various competitions will be organised for children and adults with communication disorders in the Department of Clinical Services and Department of Special Education. Prizes for these competitions will be distributed to the winners.

Felicitation

Parents, caregivers, stakeholders will be felicitated for promoting, protecting and being role models in the society. Cultural programmes by children with various communication disorders, and their caregivers will also take place.

Cricket tourney

 SBRR Mahajana PU College is conducting Dr Praveen Memorial Cricket Tournament from December 13 to 17, said a press release.
