Speaking at media conference here on Saturday, Samithi State President Dyavappa Nayaka said that while the places of worships of less importance may be removed but not assuming big importance.
Letter campaign
Bemoaning that temples, mosques and other religious places on government land and public places are being removed, they said that the Samithi will launch a ‘Letter campaign’ demanding the intervention of the Centre.
Also objecting to the demolition drive being carried out by the district administration, Nayaka demanded that the houses built on the canals should not be removed.
Instead title deeds should be distributed among the people by regularising the encroached land.
Samithi Vice President Valmiki Ningaraju, Secretary M Nagendra Edakola, Siddanayaka Kadakola and C Rakesh were present at the press meet.
