Belting out songs from Hindi and Kannada movies, medicos set the audience enthralled at the ‘Geeth Gaatha Chal -2010’ music concert held at the MMC&RI Platinum Jubilee Hall.

While the event turned out to be a roaring success, the organisers arranged for two additional LCD screens outside the venue to accommodate the thronging audience.

The concert began with Dr Natashekar holding the crowd captive by singing ‘Apaara keerthi galasi merevea bhavya naadidu’ from the Kannada movie ‘Veera Kesari’, describing the glory of Karnataka.

Dr Hemalatha continued with the song ‘Ajeeb dastan hai yeh’, followed by a ghazal ‘Tum ko dekha to... yeh khayal aaya’ by Dr Kushalappa, who matched Jagjit Singh’s original song note to note.

Later, a duet by Dr Natashekar and Dr Hemalatha from ‘Belli Moda’ drew huge applause from the crowd. R D Burman’s music echoed through the hall as Dr Snehashree rekindled people with the song ‘Bahon me chalen aao’. The song ‘Yeh zindagi usi ki hai’ from the movie ‘Anarkali’, drew a huge round of applause from the crowd and also appreciation with audience commenting ‘too good... too good’.

Singer Kishore Kumar’s rather mischievous ‘Haal kaisa hai janaab ka’ was ably reproduced by Dr Natashekar and his daughter Apoorva, leaving the crowd spellbound.

The other performers included Dr U G Shenoy, Dr M A Shekar, Dr Ganesh Rao, Dr Snehashree N, Preethi Prabhu, Sparsha Shenoy and Radhika Vishweshwara.
