Court spokesman Christian Gneist said the unnamed businessman was found guilty of breaking a UN trade embargo against the reclusive stalinist country imposed after Pyongyang conducted its first nuclear test in October 2006.
In May 2009, Italian police seized the two yachts ordered by the businessman after they became suspicious about a payment on his bank account from North Korea.
