Madani case: Scribe files complaint against cops

The reporter had visited Kodagu on November 17 and interviewed witnesses in the Bangalore blast case in which People’s Democratic Party Leader Abdul Nasar Madani was allegedly involved. The Kodagu police had booked two cases against the reporter and four others for allegedly questioning the witness in a threatening manner during the interview at Siddapura and Hosathota here. While one case was filed against the reporter and other at Siddapura police, another case was filed at the Somwarpet station. Following this, the reporter filed a complaint with the Kerala DGP.

The Kerala DGP collected infomation regarding the issue from the Karnataka DGP Ajay Kumar Singh. It is learnt that Hassan SP Sharatchandra has been asked to conduct inquiry into the complaint. Accordingly, a police team led by Hassan Circle Inspector Veerabhadrappa arrived in district on Tuesday to conduct inquiry. The police team collected information from witnesses in the Madani case Hosathota Yogananda, Aigoor Prabhakar, Razak of Siddapur and the Somwarpet Sub Inspector Mahesh. The team also obtained the copy of the complaint registered.
