Labour contractor shot at

The incident occurred when contractor, Ramesh Athani (54), was returning home. Two motorcycle-borne youth approached him on the pretext of enquiring an address. Pretending to take out a visiting card, one of them shot at Ramesh with a revolver. They fled the spot leaving the weapon there itself.

Out of danger

Ramesh, now undergoing treatment at Vydehi Hospital has sustained a bullet injury on his left shoulder. He is said to be out of danger.

The police said the motive for the attack is unclear as the miscreants had not robbed Ramesh.

The victim has not recognised the assailants and the police are trying to gather information about the revolver recovered at the spot.
