Aloysius to offer courses in computer animation

St Aloysius College, Mangalore will be introducing two computer animation courses at the under graduate level, from this academic year.

According to a press release, though there are a few diploma or certificate courses are available in Mangalore in animation, this is the first time a well organised and systematic animation degree course offered anywhere in the Mangalore University jurisdiction.

The animation course has two streams — B Sc Computer Animation Science course is offered with physics and mathematics. Those with science subject in PUC are eligible to take this course.

In arts stream, computer animation is offered with journalism major and English literature. For this, students with any steam (Arts, Commerce, Science)  in PUC are eligible to apply.  In today’s technology-driven world, computer animation offers plenty of opportunities in the job market.

Film industry, mass media, advertising, and other entertainment industries have been on the look out for trained work force in computer animation, but are running short of personnel, the release added.

The inauguration and orientation programme of Yenepoya medical and dental postgraduates will be held at Yenepoya University campus in Deralakatte on May 7 at 10 am.
