The toilet is located in the adjacent office room of the station superintendent where the deputy station superintendent (commercial) works.

In the same lounge is the VVIP room where any body, who is somebody, comes to relax before boarding the train.

But during the peak hours, when a railway officer went to the toilet, he, much to his horror, found a large snake, peering at him. Caught literally with his pants down, the shocked officer mustered courage and ran outside screaming for help.

Incidentally, the snake, too, followed him to the VVIP room, where many people woke up from their deep slumber and ran helter-skelter leaving their luggage.

Chaos on platform

As the news of snake spread like a wildfire, there was a commotion on platform number 1 for an hour. Amid bedlam, the snake quietly retreated and hid itself inside the toilet.
The sanitary inspector, flanked with an array of railway staff, who were armed with lathis, rushed to the toilet to nab the snake. But the reptile disappeared as fast as it had appeared.

The sanitary staff eventually sprayed repellents all over the area so that in case the snake re-appeared it would lose consciousness due to the medicine effect.

But for the next two hours, not a single VVIP dared to enter the lounge, despite railway mandarins declaring that there was no more threat from the snake.
