Fake Cobra pearl: 11 held, scorpio van seized

According to police, the prime accused, Guruswamy Aradhya aka Puttaswamy is a resident of Saragur village. 

The police arrested his sons, Channaveeranna Aradhya and Mallikarjuna Aradhya; and Murugan, Shakthivelu, Balaguruswamy, Karthik, Marimutthu, Ayyappaswamy and Vasu, all residents of Tamil Nadu.

Guruswamy had an agreement with eight persons from TN to sell the cobra pearl for ` 1.50 crore. Even, he had taken an advance of ` 1.20 crore a year back and promised them to give the pearl after full settlement. However, the accused went on postponing the delivery of the pearl by giving one or the other reasons.

The buyers got suspicion and came to Kollegal and checked into a lodge on December 27. Later, they went to Guruswamy’s house at 11 am on Dec 28 and demanded him to give the pearl or to return the advance money. At this juncture, a wordy duel ensued among Guruswamy and others. The persons from TN kidnapped Guruswamy and took him in their vehicle.

Based on the information given the villagers, the police nabbed the accused near Sathegala Check post. The Kollegal Rural Police have booked a case of abduction against eight persons of Tamil Nadu and cheating case booked against other three. 

Kollegal Rural Police Sub-Inspector Puttaswamy,  Assistant Sub-Inspector Chandrashekhar, Police personnel Jayashankar, Puttaswamy, Nanjaiah, Prakash took part in the operation.
