Citing the example of singer Krishnamurthy Bhagavatha, Kannan said that even though the former is physically disabled he uses only his teeth to do several household chores and remains a inspiration for many. Kannan said that despite they have many facilities, they often complain about what they don’t have, while a person such as Bhagavatha enjoys the opportunities that he has been provided.

Kannan also urged children to become more creative as it would help them become successful. Citing courtier of Tenali Rama, the courtier of Sri Krishnadevaraya, Kannan said that Rama had evaded taxing situations by being creative.

Advising students, Kannan said that life is a struggle and everybody has to face it with confidence. This will ensure your success in your careers and personal life.

The college felicitated Kannan and former student M R Suresh of Cycle Pure Agarbathies. Later, Kannan felicitated School Administrative Officer Kalamaradappa.
