‘Jaanapada Mela’

Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni College for Women will be organising Jaanapada Mela on January 13 and 14 on the college premises to make the students aware of rural life and culture.

The folklore fair will be inaugurated by Appagere Thimmaraju, a folklore artiste.

Various competitions and traditional games will be held on two days. Students can put on sale the traditional dishes prepared at home. Sankranthi Santhe will also be held as a part of the fair in which girls can sell peanuts, sugar cane, coconuts, sweet potato, banana leaves, flowers, sesame, sugar moulds and other things. Even the mothers and sisters of the students can take part. The attraction of the fest would be that all girls will be in traditional attire.
