Feeling worthless is enormously stressful. You exist dispiritedly and your bowed head imposes a huge strain on the nape of your neck. The feeling causes dizziness, claustrophobia, migraine, cervical spondylosis, and more.

Banish the thought that you are no good. Don’t let it take root in your subconscious. If it already has, uproot it with this daily practice: Make a list of your strengths and skills. The list is sure to pleasantly surprise you.

When you are in a balanced state of mind, understand that there’s no reason to be overwhelmed by people who appear more confident than you. Appearances can be deceptive. Be comfortable with yourself. Ruminate on what the Mother said, “Whatever and whoever lives is full of divine energy.”

Since it is divine energy that makes the heart beat, one doesn’t need proof of its existence. Sit comfortably, close your eyes and repeat the following sentence: “I will allow divine energy to run through my body and heal every cell.” Slowly sip water. Allow yourself to relax. Visualise golden light moving through you, from head to toe. When you finally open your eyes, everything will look brighter and better. This is because you have allowed divine energy to move through you, unhindered by questions or doubts.

Every time you feel small, do this exercise to remind yourself of how infinite you really are. You can be sure that life gives you exactly the right circumstances that help to elevate your consciousness. Behind every challenging situation is life smiling encouragingly at you and urging you to keep walking.

Here’s a lovely story: A little boy always failed in maths. In the exam hall, he would freeze on seeing the question paper. Every night he prayed to God to help him pass the final exams. But he failed in the preliminary exams. “God doesn’t care,” he declared to his sister. His sister explained gently, “When God solves your problems, you have faith in His abilities, don’t you?” The boy nodded. His sister continued, “Well, when God doesn’t solve your problems, it means He has faith in your abilities.” Is it any surprise then that the boy passed his final exams? With the right perspective, all effort becomes effortless. Divine perspective is sure to bring deep peace, good health, self-esteem and wellbeing.

Treat unpredictable and unfair situations as opportunities to delve into your resourcefulness. To expect only good things to happen to you because you are a good person is like expecting a bull not to charge at you because you’re a vegetarian! When you face an unpleasant encounter with a rude and angry person, don’t take it personally. Withdraw into your inner calm. Visualise a golden aura protecting you. Feel compassion for the rude person, whose every minute of anger is robbing him of 60 seconds of happiness. Be like the farmer who when told, ‘Don’t work so hard, the crops will grow by themselves,’ replied, ‘I’m not cultivating my crops, but myself’. Exercise regularly, eat moderately, meditate unfailingly and discover the hidden harmony in you.
