<p>The 22-year-old devout Muslim from Konewada, who had been going to Sabarimala every year for the past five years, was killed in Friday’s stampede while returning to a parking place after witnessing the Makara Jyoti.<br /><br />Maddi is survived by his parents and two brothers. He was part of the 20-member pilgrim group from Konewada. Some of the other pilgrims in the group sustained minor injuries and are expected to return to Karwar within two days.</p>
