Police recover valuables worth Rs. 67 lakh

As per the complaints, valuables including gold jewellery and two-wheelers worth ` 1,37,89,577 have been robbed and police were successful in recovering valuables worth  ` 66.97 lakh.

 Disclosing the details at a news conference at Police parade grounds in city on Monday, IGP (Southern Range) A S N Murthy said, the complaints included seven murders, 14 extortion, 59 night robbery, 14 daylight robbery and 13 chain snatching cases.

Police have been successful in cracking five murder cases, six extortion, 27 night robbery cases, he said and added that 24 dowry harassment cases, six rape and 72 mishaps have also been reported during the same period, he said. Gold and silver articles, vehicles, mobiles and other valuables worth  ` 66.97 lakh have been recovered and articles worth  ` 38.31 lakh has been returned to owners concerned,  he stated. 

He also lauded the police team and announced a cash reward of  `  28,975 for them.
