Unlike other newcomers who speak big with the hangover of first success, Rakesh innocently bares it all-Most of the people in the film industry said, one cannot live long on the laurels of the debut success. Don’t take much break, accept the movies, especially those that are equally youthful like that of josh’. When S Basavareddy sir (producer of the movie) called me, and the director Rajesh R Nair narrated the story, he couldn’t say no but accept.
Executive producer K M Veeresh said ‘wherever Rakesh goes, he faces one question- Will you win the leading lady’s hand atleast in this?’ For answer one has to see the movie, a musical love story.
Rakesh loses his hearthrob to destiny in his first movie. The movie has been extensively shot in Shimoga and Bangalore as the situation demanded. For a particular resort with rich green, we had to zero in on Shimoga, Veeresh added.
The film also has two newcomers, but who know the basics of films. Heroine Nikki Das is the winner of ‘Miss Gladrags’ title, besides being one of the beauties who emblazoned sensational Kingfisher calendar in 2007. This apart, she is a model who has done many ads with big names like Vivek Oberoi among others to her credit.
Chetan is another new face who is sharing space with Rakesh in the lead role. A talented singer, he has won ‘Suvarna Star Singer Award’.
Do you remember that fat guy in ‘Josh’ who shot to fame with Rakesh? Alok, is that guy, who has lost weight, and is also playing a role here. For Basavareddy, it’s his second movie after Dhyaan starrer ‘Neene Neene’. He was hopeful of sporting a smile (Mandahaasa) and prayed for it, once the movie hits screens. The film may be released in February.
To check piracy, the audio CDs of the movie are being distributed free among the college students. “It also makes for unique publicity”, adds Veeresh. Veer Samarth has scored the music.
